Cuban Triple Jump Sensation Leyanis Perez Rises to the Occasion at Pan Am Junior Games

Cuban triple jumper Leyanis Perez has been making waves in the Jumping world, and her recent triumph at the inaugural Pan American Junior Games in Cali, Colombia, has solidified her status as a rising star. The 19-year-old athlete claimed a convincing continental gold medal with an impressive leap of 14.39 meters, surpassing 14 meters in all five of her jumps.
Perez’s performance in Cali was a testament to her immense potential, which she had already showcased in several local meetings on Cuban soil, setting a national under-20 record of 14.48 meters. Her international success in Cali came as a stepping stone towards bigger goals, including a debut at the upcoming World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
